Do you pick up your mobile phone first thing in the morning? How much coffee do you have daily? What about those midnight snacks? Is it hard to wake up in the morning and fall asleep at night? Are you having trouble finding energy throughout the day?
If the answer is ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then your natural body rhythm is out of balance.
Why would I need to realign my body’s natural rhythm?
The science of Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of connection with nature, which means that our internal body clock is in sync with nature’s rhythms. If we get disconnected from these rhythms, we are prone to health imbalances and suffer more from stress.
What is Dinacharya?
Dinacharya is a Sanskrit word made up of ‘dina’ meaning day and ‘acharya’ meaning activity. According to Ayurveda, Dinacharya is a daily routine designed to maintain and connect us to our circadian rhythms or the internal body clock, while Ritucharya is the seasonal routine designed to prepare our bodies for the change of weather.
But why does it matter?
Our bodies are governed by specific cycles and daily rhythms. The most basic being sleep and food cycles, e.g. feeling hungry at lunchtime or sleepy in the evening.
Dinacharya makes us understand the best time for our daily routine like waking, exercise, bathing, meditation, prayer, meals, study, work, relaxation, and sleeping. This is necessary to maintain a healthy body, mind, and soul.
What are the benefits of this workshop?
In our daily lives, due to high work demands or social/family responsibilities, we lose the capacity to listen to our bodies and we sometimes end up facing insomnia, lack of appetite or not feeling fresh, light and full of energy every morning. This can turn into imbalances and create an environment for lower immunity, poor cognitive function, mood and sleep disorders, diabetes, obesity, daytime sleepiness, reduced school performance, substance abuse, heart disease, etc.
Clear your schedule and join us for an educational, fun and supportive workshop, where you can share your questions and concerns with like-minded people who most probably share your enthusiasm to make a change in life but are struggling in making the proper first step.
While Ayurveda has emphasized the importance of a connection with nature for millennia, western scientists are only now beginning to understand exactly how important it is for the body to stay connected to the rhythms of nature.
